Kael

I am Kael, a finance student at Tec de Monterrey in Mexico, and I love to learn, discover and explore a great many things, whether on my own or with others. Learning can be hard at times, but it is an enjoyable journey when you look at it through the effort you have put in, and facing difficulty in the company of others creates memories that make learning better still.

I have found that one of the best ways to learn is to connect with and feel inspired by the person teaching you. It then becomes a fluent conversation between both sides, discussing what is unclear, opening the situation up to new perspectives and lowering the walls that a sense of authority sometimes builds. Connecting topics to real life situations, hobbies or shared values is the approach I like to take.

Seeing others find their way and learn to love learning is what truly inspires me. I have taken part in teaching programmes where we watched students grow and find their passions, shining through the struggles and the effort they put in. There is also a teacher I admire deeply, a person of values and intelligence, who helped me find the joy in knowledge and discovery. That is a light I want to pass on.

I was born in Monterrey, Mexico, where I studied for most of my life. During my studies I spent one semester in Guadalajara and another in Finland, where I met people from many countries and experienced a culture completely different from my own. Being that far from home and family was a challenge, and I grew a lot because of it.

Over time I have picked up many interests, and I hope the list never stops growing: playing the piano, reading, running, the gym, video games, cooking and mixing funny looking drinks, hiking with friends and family, discussing personal finance, and learning about cultures and mythology.
