FAQ
What parents ask
- Is it really free?
- Yes. The account, the school data and the diagnostic test are free, with no payment details.
- Who is Mapa for?
- For parents of children heading to a Czech secondary school: four-year, six-year and eight-year programmes, that is the ninth, seventh and fifth grade.
- Do we have to install anything?
- No. Mapa runs in the browser on a phone and on a computer. If you prefer the app, you can get it from the App Store or Google Play. Your child installs nothing and opens the test from a link.
- Is the test in Czech?
- Yes. The tasks are real Cermat tasks and the exam is in Czech, so they stay in Czech. Everything you work with as a parent is in English.
- How long does it take?
- Setting it up takes a few minutes. Your child then writes the test like the real exam: 70 minutes of maths and 60 of Czech. You see the result as soon as they finish.
- How does Mapa know the chance of admission?
- From open Cermat data for previous rounds: how many children applied to the programme, how many were admitted and with how many points. Your child's result from the test is set against that.
