Anastasiya

I am an international student at a university six thousand kilometres from home. I enjoy learning new things and getting immersed in completely new experiences, which is why I moved to Georgia at sixteen to graduate from the IB Diploma Programme there, and am now doing my bachelor's in Qatar. I have had my ups and downs on this journey, but I know for sure that being exposed to the unknown is a great path to personal growth.

The main thing for me is that my students are interested in the lesson. I try to approach new material through the prism of my student's hobbies and interests, and I think a friendly atmosphere is a great environment for growth. I value dedication and commitment, but also a real personal connection and enjoyment during our sessions, because that fosters creativity and comfort.

The reason I want to share what I know is that I have seen how exciting learning can be, and how important it is for our brains to take in new information and stay flexible in an ever changing world. I have had the best teachers throughout my studies, and now I want to be the person who makes that kind of difference for someone else.

I studied in Belarus until I was sixteen, changing schools several times, and then moved to a completely new country on my own. It all happened very quickly, but it was a turning point and it gave me the chance to find my true self. Getting used to change and finding common ground with very different people is something I am proud of. Now I live in Qatar and get to learn about Arab cultures from within.

My main interest is learning languages and exploring cultures. I speak eight languages, though not all of them fluently yet. I love international relations, which is what I study at university, and I want to bring psychology into my studies as well.
